Vittorio Emanuele III and Benito Mussolini. Partly printed documented signed "Vittorio Emanuele" as King of Italy and "Mussolini" as Prime Minister, one page recto/verso (14 x 9¼", Rome, July 12, 1928. The year is also given as Year VI, being the sixth year since Mussolini came to power in 1922. Promoting seven complementary lieutenants from the Royal Academy of Artillery and Genius to permanent lieutenants. Both signatures are on the verso and both are very large and bold. Fine condition. Triple matted with images of the king and Mussolini and biographical plaques of both, in a striking double-sided frame which shows both sides of the document. Overall size is 23 x 34". Dönitz, Karl -- Souvenir Authorization to Ratify the German Surrender. (1891-1980) German admiral who played a major role in the naval history of World War II. Dönitz briefly succeeded Adolf Hitler as the head of state of Germany. At the Nuremberg trials, he was convicted of war crimes and sentenced to ten years' imprisonment. Typed document signed "Dönitz," one page, n.p., 10.8.77. Being a souvenir copy of the document Dönitz signed as Grand Admiral on May 7, 1945 giving orders to General Fieldmarshal Keitel, General Admiral Von Friedeburg, and Colonel General Stumpf. With a 5¾ x 4" photo signed "Dönitz," and dated "20.6.75" is tipped to left margin. Estimate Value $300 - UP

Fleet Admiral Ernest J. King, 1936 TLS on Navy Dept letterhead, encouraging Lt. R.A.J. English for the "fine work done by the 'Bear of Oakland' under your command"; Fleet Admiral W.F. Halsey, ISP thanking Rosita Moreno for "entertaining our men"; General Omar N. Bradley, signed program for a 1948 luncheon in his honor; Lt. Gen. Millard F. Harmon, ISP thanking "Miss Moreno for helping us over the hump in the South Pacific"; Lt. "Savage" Anthony, ISP; Gen. J.H. Doolittle signature on a 1976 dedication program. Also included is an SP by Gen. W.C. Westmoreland, who commanded U.S. forces during the Vietnam War from 1964 to 1968. All very good or fine. Estimate Value $300 - UP

Tibbets, Paul -- Signed Photo and First Day Cover. (1915-2007) Pilot who flew the Enola Gay when it dropped an atomic bomb on the Japanese city of Hiroshima on Aug. 6, 1945. Cover signed commemorating the 50th anniversary of the end of World War II, with special non-issue stamp. Two Original Chinese Propaganda Posters From the Cultural Revolution, 1966 and 1973. Both are 30 x 20½". In one a young man holds up a copy of "The Thoughts of Chairman Mao" and urges, "Provide Great Support to Agriculture." In the other, a happy young woman declares, "We are all Mao's soldiers." In the backgound are vignettes of adults supervising children at various tasks. Both posters are lightly toned, else fine. Estimate Value $600 - UP

Two large Chinese figures in bright green watch U.S. forces in nondescript brown cower in the lower right corner and a U.S. plane goes down in flames, : "Do Everything to Support the Volunteer Army to Resist U.S. Agression and Aid Korea." The Korea War took place between June 30, 1950 to July 27, 1953. Due to its comic-book sensibility, this poster is likely a restrike. Estimate Value $400 - UP

Two Original Chinese Propaganda Posters. One is 30 x 20½"and one is 20½ x 30", both in dramatic red and black. One has Chinese down one side and Russian down the other. It urges: "Crack the Damn Head of Russian Revisionism!" and mentions Kosygin and Brezhnev, who were Premier and First Secretary of the Soviet Union. Faint stain in left margin and one small split at bottom edge. The second poster, dated 1969, says, "Defeat the New Czar of Soviet Revisionism. Defeat American Imperialism." Light toning, else fine.
