1794 S-22 R1 Head of 1794. PCGS graded VF-25. Slightly glossy dark olive brown and steel with lighter steel brown toning on the devices. The surfaces are decent but the fields and protected areas are covered with microscopic granularity while the highpoints are smooth. No verdigris, and the only notable marks are a few rim nicks on the reverse, the strongest one over the R in AMERICA. Early die state with just a hint of swelling at the top of the wreath. The date and legends are complete and clear. Our grade is net F12. Estimate Value $600 - UP

1794 S-29 R2 VF20. Ten points sharper but covered with uniform very fine granularity under rather glossy dark steel and olive brown toning. No marks or verdigris. A tiny chip out of the rim over the second S in STATES can help identify this cent. Very late die state, Breen state IV late. In addition to the swelling or bulges below AT in STATES and around OF that are mentioned by Breen, this cent also has swelling in the field before the neck. The date and legends are complete and clear. Estimate Value $3,500 - UP

1794 S-60 R3 VG8. Sharpness VF30 but lightly corroded with pits scattered over the reverse. No verdigris. A minor rim bruise at CA in AMERICA is the only notable contact mark. Slightly glossy light olive and steel blending to medium chocolate. E-MDS, Breen state II, with die clashmarks behind the head. The date and legends are complete and clear. Estimate Value $300 - UP
