The devices are bathed in creamy white frost, which is remarkably well preserved and free of handling marks. A really tough date and mint to find with the Deep Prooflike designation, as only a handful are known this well preserved, with none seen finer. A well struck example. One moderate scuff on the lower breast of the eagle from an even higher state of preservation. Tied with a select group as the finest seen with this designation for this date and mint. Highly imporatnt as such, and worthy of the finest collection. Pop 6; tied for the finest Deep (Mirror) Prooflike examples graded at both services. Lot 574		1901-S. PCGS graded MS-66. Well struck and nicely toned with a medium gold shade over lustrous surfaces. The strike is a touch soft on the curls over Liberty's ear, typcial for this date and mint. But what is not typcial is how super clean the surfaces are, right down to Liberty's cheek, which is satin smooth and free of the usual bagmarks.
