1798. Large Eagle. B-27, BB-113, Rarity 2. NGC graded MS-61. Light gold toning on this high grade attractive early silver dollar. Liberty's hair is particuarly bold, with full separation of her curls, right down to her tiny lovelock on her neck. The reverse is sharp too, with bold definition othe eagle and the stars above. Well struck and seldom seen this well preserved. Pop 18; 26 finer at NGC. Estimate Value $18,000 - 19,000

1798. Large eagle, close date. B-9, BB-121, Rarity 5. PCGS graded MS-62. Lightly toned with reflective fields and a bold strike on Liberty's curls and the eagle's feathers. This is a a scarce die pairing, and mint state examples are virtually impossible to obtain, save for this lovely example. Scattered light handling nicks as expected for the grade, and a condition rarity at this lofty level. All early Draped Bust dollars are rare in any Mint State level of preservation. Notice the usual die crack on the reverse, from the left edge to the eagle's lower beak. Any Draped Bust dollar is a rare item in MS-63, here's a nice one that will place any advanced collection on the permanent map of greatness. Pop 2; tied for the finest examples graded at both services for the variety. Estimate Value $35,000 - 40,000
