Lot Photo Description Realized
Lot 454
1795. 2 leaves. B-1, BB-21, Rarity 2. NGC graded AU-53. Nice even toning that shows light silver dominating with a touch of antique blue and gold on both sides. An important type coin to represent the Flowing Hair design. Strong hair definition on the obverse, the reverse too with bold feathers on the wings. Notice several breast feathers are present as well, making this coin a classic, high grade condition rarity. Excellent surfaces too, with no troubling circulation marks. A couple of minor adjustment marks are noted in Liberty's hair, imparted by the mint prior to the striking of this lovely coin, these of course reflect the planchet being a bit too heavy and adjusted by filing off a bit of metal prior to striking at the mint. Commonly seen, and historic. Estimate Value $18,000 - 19,000
