500 Home Runs: 11 Signed Balls, JSA Certified, Including Williams, Aaron, Mantle and Mays. The 500 Home Run Club is a group of MLB batters who have hit 500 or more regular-season home runs in their careers. In 1929, Babe Ruth became the first member of the club and now there are 26 players that have joined him. Offered is a collection of 11 of those hitters, a significant start for those wanting to collect all 27. In this collection are Ted Williams, Mickey Mantle, Willie Mays, Hank Aaron (these four have JSA LOA's), Frank Robinson, Mike Schmidt, Willie McCovey, Eddie Mathews, Ernie Banks, Reggie Jackson and Harmon Killebrew (and these seven have JSA Certs). Some of the balls have very slight toning but the signatures are bold, executed in blue pen and without smearing. All certifications were issued in April, 2018. Estimate Value $2,500 - UP

Beautiful 1956 Cleveland Indians Team-Signed Ball + Al Rosen Signed Ball. 1956 Cleveland Indians Team Signed Baseball featuring signatures from members of this beloved team founded in 1901. 32 signatures all in black ink save for three (Chico Carrasquel, Bob Feller, and Bob Lemon in blue). Manager, Al Lopez, is front and center with ball including Al Rosen (MVP in 1953), Early Winn, Gene Woodling, Vic Wertz, Ray Narleski, Bobby Avila, Jim Hegan, Mike Garcia, Dale Whitehall and more. Very fine condition with only minor toning to ball. Also included is a signed and inscribed baseball by Al Rosen. There were few Jewish MLB player in mid-20th Century and Rosen was quite proud of his heritage. He would not play on High Holy Days (neither would Sandy Koufax, certainly the most well known Jewish player, along with Hank Greenberg). Rosen was inducted into the National Jewish Sports Hall of Fame in 1980. Rosen signed and inscribed "To Mark Best Wishes, Al Rosen." These two balls came to us late with zero time to have JSA certified. We stand by 100% with regards to the authenticity of these two autographed balls. Estimate Value $700 - UP

Darryl Strawberry Signed Baseball, JSA Certified. Strawberry (born 1962), boasts a 17 year career in the Majors throughout the 1980s and early 1990s. Strawberry was one of the best sluggers in the sport, certainly an intimidating presence at 6'6". He enjoyed playing mostly with the Mets, but also the Dodgers, the Giants and the Yankees. While Strawberry certainly had personal issues during his career, he is now an ordained minister, author, established a foundation on autism and lectures on addiction and recovery. Early Autograph of Mickey Mantle (1951), JSA Graded. An early signature on a large folded piece of paper of Mickey Mantle. Provenance conveying with autograph indicates it was signed late fall or early winter in Commerce, Oklahoma in 1951 at a basketball tournament. The early date explains the slight but noticeable difference in his signature later in his career. Letter of Authenticity conveys from JSA issued in April, 2018. Paper is twice folded but has been archived flat for so long almost invisible, measure 5 x 6" with the signature itself bold in pencil and almost 4" in length. Phil Rizzuto; New York Yankees Celebrated Shortstop and Legendary Broadcaster --Photo and Signature. Phil Rizzuto (1917-2007) spent his entire 13-year baseball career with the New York Yankees (1941-1956), and was elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1994. A seven-time World Series Champion, Rizzuto then became the voice for the Yankees for an astonishing 40 years, covering many historic games. Rizzuto was involved with the Yankee Organization for 70 years of his adult life. Brooklyn Dodgers: 18 Players Autographs, Ebbets Field Photo, Original Multi-Player Signed Reunion Illustration, Podres Signed Photo. Brooklyn Dodgers 1941 World Series, Autographs of Team and Henrich/Owen Error. 1941 saw the Brooklyn Dodgers win the National League pennant and face off with their neighboring Yankees in the World Series. In this lot of two great signed pieces, the first is an excellent vintage re-strike photo of the team originally published in 1941 in The Sporting News. Below, the photo are signatures of the players on 3 leaves removed from an autograph book representing by 18 of the players. They include Johnny Allen, Billy Herman, Pete Coscarart, Luke Hamlin, Dolph Camilli, Augie Galan, Dixie Walker, "Pee Wee" Reese, Pete Reiser, Hugh Casey, Joe, Medwick, Whitlow Wyatt, Newt Kimball, Kirbe Higbe, Tom Drake, Harry Lavagatto, Jim Wasdell and Herman Frank. All signature in pencil obtained in the year, collection in excellent condition and framed and matted to 16" x 12". Complimenting the collection is an oversized B&W photo of Ebbets Field signed by Tommy Henrich and Mickey Owen, Owen of course comitting the error which many still feel cost the Dodgers the Series.

Maxie Rosenbloom: "Slapsie Maxie," Celebrated Jewish Boxer, Large Original Pen & Ink ca. 1935 by O'Dell Dean (1907 - 1976) Born in Leonard Bridge, Connecticut, Rosenbloom was nicknamed "Slapsie Maxie" by a journalist due to his open gloved style of boxing. In 1932 he won the Light Heavyweight Champion. Rosenbloom one of only a handful of Jewish boxers to box professionally. After he retired his knack for comedy got him radio shows and supporting roles in films including Rod Serling's Requiem for a Heavyweight. During 1935, he postponed a scheduled fight with Tiger Jack Fox that was scheduled to fall between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur until after the Jewish holidays. This illustration was created at that time. Notice a black panel for an illustration of Fox, likely separately inserted. Also note, given the time the clearly racist representation of Fox in the upper right corner. A lot of history in this one original illustration by O'Dell Dean acclaimed illustrator of sports figures. Illustration is 14 x 16" in mat 18 x 22" Extremely well archived. Estimate Value $500 - UP

Muhammad Ali, AKA Cassius Clay Signed Oversized Color Photograph (1942-2016) "The Greatest" Muhammad Ali (Cassius Clay) was one of the leading heavyweight boxers of the 20th century and considered one of the greatest athletes in American history. From the second bout between Ali and Sonny Liston for the World Heavyweight Championship in 1965 is an oversized color re-strike photo of one of the most iconic images in boxing history, Ali standing over Liston after Liston hit the canvas from a punch as debated today as it was then. Ali has signed "Muhammad Ali AKA Cassius Clay" in gold pen likely in the 90s. The size of the photo impresses at 24 x 22" framed to 28 x 26" the signature clean. Estimate Value $600 - UP

Collection also includes golf and sports greats who wrote to congratulate a couple for their 50th Wedding Anniversary, the husband an avid golfer. Golfing greats really took the time in writing well wishes including Arnold Palmer, who also sent a wonderful signed 8 x 10 color photo as well as a very kind note, Sam Snead note and also signed visor, Jack Nicklaus, and Lee Trevino. Julius Boros' Liftime PGA medal from 1953. Three Relics From Historic and Beloved Stadiums: Ebbets Field and Olympia Stadium & One Dodger Stadium Medallion. Two relics for fans of sports from the early to mid 20th Century. 1.) From Ebbets Field, Brooklyn New York (1913 -1957) a chair section with a mounted brass plaque giving the history of the stadium which includes of course the National League's Brooklyn Dodgers, The Negro National League, Eagles and the United States League Brooklyn Brown Dodgers. 10½ x 3". 2.) From Detroit, an authentic section of hockey board from the famed "Old Red Barn" The Olympia Stadium. Home to 11 time Stanley Cup Champions, The Detroit Red Wings. Piece is mounted on wood panel with a great 8 x10 photo of the stadium and a plaque identifying the history and that this is edition #122 of only 240. 14 x12" Both in excellent condition. 3.) Cleveland Stadium, commonly known as Municipal Stadium or Lakefront Stadium, was a multi-purpose stadium located in Cleveland, Ohio built to accommodate both baseball and football. Offered a section of a stadium chair with a plaque identifying it from the stadium and the years in operation. 4.) Finally an official Dodger Stadium medallion commemorating the opening in Los Angeles on April 10, 1962 a beautiful high relief piece with a batter on one side and the stadium on the reverse in bronze 2½" in diameter.
