Lot 1981
1799. Large obverse stars. PCGS graded AU-58. Lots of mint lustre visible and each of the devices are well frosted. A lot of eye appeal as such, as these historic designs are quite attractive when found in high grades like this. The strike is sharp throughout. Clean surfaces, with no signs of adjustment marks or rim bumps that often plague these early gold coins. Seems a little under graded based on the frosty devices, abundant luster and general surface condition.Pop 72; (PCGS # 8562) Estimate Value $22,000 - 23,000

Lot 1983
1846. PCGS graded AU-55. David Akers says this is one of the most underrated dates in the the entire Coronet Eagle series. CoinFacts agrees and notes that perhaps as many as 105 distinct coins exist for this years mintage--that's a tiny number. Hence if you need a handsome example of this date, be warned, not many come up from year to year, and this pleasing AU-55 will undoubtedly be scooped up by someone who knows these facts. Pop 8; 2 in 58; 3 finer at PCGS. Mostly untoned. Only 20,095 minted (PCGS # 8594) Estimate Value $4,800 - 5,000
