Lot 14
(1795) Washington North Wales Halfpenny Breen-1295, W-11150 PCGS graded XF40. PCGS graded EF-40. Very attractive glossy medium chocolate brown and olive. The planchet is smooth and there are no marks or other defects. There is not much wear on this piece but the strike is always soft (done intentionally to make them appear worn from use in commerce) so grading presents a challenge. This is the Baker-34 variety with stars at the bottom of the harp, one at each side. Weight 99.9 grains. Listed on page 86 in the "Redbook." (PCGS # 770) Estimate Value $400 - UP
