Lot 1544
1834. No motto. NGC graded MS-63. CAC. Lovely golden toning adds to its appeal with a considerable amount of antique rose and copper intermixed. Boldly struck with on the devices and showing reflective fields. This is the first year of the Classic Head design, which became a short lived style that was struck from 1834 through 1839 on quarter eagles. Today they are highly collectible and offer the intrigue of hand cut dies, with letters and stars each punched into the die by hand, so small variations are clearly observable. This particular example is not only Choice, but from the Eric P. Newman Collection. A fantastic opportunity! (PCGS # 7692) Estimate Value $7,500 - 8,000
Ex Eric Newman Coll.
