1848 First Restrike Breen 1-B R5+ PCGS graded Proof-64 Brown, CAC Approved. Very attractive bluish steel and olive brown. No spots, stains, or notable hairlines. Sharply struck and nearly flawless except for a dull mark on the front edge of the neck and a small scrape on the rim right of star 12. The reverse is choice and the eye appeal of this piece is excellent. Our grade is Proof-60. Pop 6; 7 finer, 2 in 64+, 4 in 65, 1 in 66. Estimate Value $6,000 - UP

1852 First Restrike Proof Breen 1-B R5 PCGS graded Proof-64 Brown. Beautiful bluish steel and olive with underlying faded mint red in places, particularly on the obverse. The only notable marks are a faint spot of slightly darker toning under the right side of the 5 and another near the dentils over star 11, plus a spot of lighter tan toning on the tip of the coronet. The reverse is flawless. Our grade is Proof-62. Pop 17; 15 finer, 2 in 64+, 8 in 65, 1 in 65+, 4 in 66. Estimate Value $4,000 - UP

1855 C-1 R1 NGC graded MS65 Red. Lustrous bright original mint red just starting to mellow to light steel brown on the highpoints, about 85% of the original red remaining on both sides. There are very faint traces of an old fingerprint in the field from star 1 to the neck and another in the field over HALF, but these certainly do not catch your eye. A tiny speck of darker toning in the dentils under the left edge of the 8 can help identify this piece. MDS with fine radial die flowlines in the fields. An impressive, original half cent. Perfect for a high-quality type or date set. Our grade is MS64. Estimate Value $2,500 - UP
