Crandall, Vivi K. "Puppy Folly" (1946-2000) Vivi K. Crandall painted in Wyoming and Germany and was known for wildlife and landscapes. However we are pleased to be offering a wonderful oil on canvas work that is far more playful. A puppy frolics in an open field scaring up two pheasants and having the time of her life. Painting has Crandall's usual blur of movement and interesting lighting. Adding immeasurably, she is having fun with the 22 x 22 " square painting intentionally conceived to hang at 45 degrees creating a diamond effect. Painting is custom matted and framed in gilt wood to 28 x 28". Estimate $800 - 1,200

Eubanks, Tony "Broken Wall" (1939 -) Born in Dallas Texas, Tony Eubanks now lives on a country farm in Grapevine, Texas. He took art training at Texas Tech University, North Texas University and the Art Center in Los Angeles and is now noted for the diversity of his subject matter - western paintings, landscapes, seascapes. "Broken Wall" has to be one of Eubanks more delicate works as his subjects are frequently cowboys. In this original oil on canvas a woman in a prairie skirt carrying a straw hat reaches for an old wooden bucket, wind swept hair tied back with magnificent countryside behind her. Soft and serene and all together lovely. Painting measures 30 x 26" framed and matted in distressed wood and gilt. Estimate $1,500 - UP

Rodriguez, Alfredo "Lost and Found" (1954 -) Rodriguez was born in the Mexican town of Tepic, Nayarit, close to the Huichole Indian reservation. He began drawing as a child and developed his talent at such a young age it assisted in supporting his immediate family of nine. In 1973 he moved to the United States and in very short order became a celebrated and award winning artist with clients worldwide responding to his traditional themes. A member of the American Indian and Cowboy Artists Association, Alfredo Rodriguez established a studio in Corona, California. His rich and vivid colors depict scenes of the inhabitants of the American West: Indians, Mountain Men, Cowboys, nestled in the mountains, deserts, and Indian villages.
Offered here is a large fantastic example, oil on canvas, of Rodriguez's talent entitled "Lost and Found" of a small Navajo Indian child finding her lost kitten with an elder woman, under the shade of an umbrella, looking pleased and relieved. The colors and detail in this, one of his larger works, is breathtaking, the landscapes almost photo real. Truly a magnificent example of Rodriguez's work. Painting measures 40 x 30" custom framed in a heavy, carved, antiqued wood frame to 50 x 40".

Speck, Gene " California Hill Country" (1937 -) Gene Speck was raised in California and now a resident of Nevada. He is a self-taught painter of landscapes, traditional Great Plains scenes with Indian encampments, ranches and panoramic views. His works are celebrated for their astonishing detail and photo realism. "California Hill Country" an original oil on canvas is a superior example of his talents. A deeply nostalgic look at the past captured in this abandoned homestead, tall grasses choking out the dilapidated barn, home and windmill that once was a family home in the early 20th century again rendered in meticulous detail; every reed of dried grass, every limb, the knots on the lumber of the barn. Swanson, Ray "Medicine Man, Navajo" (1937-2004) A member of the Cowboy Artists of America and the American Watercolor Society, Ray Swanson was known for his Southwest Native American subject--the Navajo, Hopi, Zuni and Apache Indians. He proved to be one of the most popular of the genre in the late 20th century whose works hang in numerous museums and collections. He was especially known for depicting children and smaller animals belonging to these tribes and for the beauty of their traditional costumes. Though here Swanson has delivered a magnificent portrait of an elder Navajo Medicine Man, set against a vast sky with sunlight illuminating beautifully his clothing and heroic face. Venditti graduated from San Francisco Art Institute and lives in Sebastopol His unique still lifes are unusual and mesmerizing. The still life offered here very much captures his unique style of painting complete with a rendered photograph and object, so photo-real they fool the eye almost as if a collage. Austin Prod Inc. "Life Size Decorative Ceramic Boots". While this great pair of Western boots feel like bronze, they are a heavily glazed ceramic creation, complete with scuff and wear created by Austin Prod Inc, in 1982. 15" x 11" x 10". Perfect for any fan of Westerns. This piece was displayed in Gene Aurty's office at Golden West Broadcasting on Sunset Blvd., as well as his residence. In excellent condition. Estimate $500 - 800

Borglum, Solon "Lassoing Wild Horses" (1868-1922) Borglum was the younger brother of Gutzon Borglum and uncle of Lincoln Borglum, the two men most responsible for the creation of the carvings at Mount Rushmore. He is well known for his works of frontier life. Offered is a licensed desktop casting of "Lassoing Wild Horses" by Bristol Pewter in Massachusetts as part of their Cowboy Hall of Fame Series. We must add, these are very well done. On wood base 10 x 11 x 7". Estimate $200 - UP

Dallin, Cyrus E. "Chief Washakie" (1861 - 1944) A sculptor of Indian figures and portraits, Cyrus Dallin created magnificent works in both oils and bronzes of Indians having heroic character, noble stature and dignity. His sculpture, "Chief Washakie" embodies all of these elements. An edition of 9 were originally created and this piece was displayed proudly at the entrance of Jackie and Gene Autry's residence on a brick base. Bronze has a deep rich patina and truly impresses, measures 40 x 43 x 10" and is in superior condition. This is fine, larger piece and can be placed out of doors as it was displayed at th Autry residence

Payne, Ken "Surprise Meeting" (1938-2012) Very accomplished Western sculptor whose bronzes can best be described as "action packed". Instead of stately, his bronzes burst with power and movement. Offered here is one of his best, "Surprise Meeting" a 1983 edition of 750 this being #232. A cowboy and horse are startled by a small covey of quail while riding along the Texas landscape. 21 x 13 x 9" A really great piece of Western sculpture. Renfro, Ray "Lone Star Cowboy" (1918-1989) Ray Renfroe's is known for bronze sculptures and paintings of western subject matter rendered with meticulous attention to detail and with beautiful multi-color patinas. In this outstanding bronze, Renfro has captured at full gallop a cowboy lassoing a Texas longhorn. Superb original bronze by this artists with a deep chestnut patina throughout. Shelton, Harold, The Spectacular "Spirit of America" (1918 - 1999) Acclaimed American artist known for his oil paintings, but it was Shelton's bronzes depicting the American West that impressed. Offered is his very limited edition by The National Heritage Collectors Society now Great American Bronze Works, Inc., "Spirit of America". This is a majestic, beautiful bronze of an American eagle alighting on a gnarled branch conveying great strength and pride. This is large piece measuring 44" x 43 x 32" including the Carrera marble base. The bronze was displayed proudly in the private residence of Jackie and Gene Autry. Further, Great American Bronze Works, Inc. created the memorial bronze of Autry in front of Edison Field in Anaheim as well as the "Back In The Saddle Again" a monumental sculpture of Gene Autry and his horse,"Champion" in front of the Autry Museum of the American West in Los Angeles. An optional custom oak platform 32 x 36 x 36" for greater height is available at no additional cost except for shipping.
