Lot 364		1855-O. Arrows. PCGS graded MS-65. CAC. PQ. Lovely toning on both sides with satin luster in the fields and a sharp strike. A great type coin for the Arrows at date, and furthmore a bit tougher as a New Orleans issue. This is one of the finer examples to come down to us today, far and away finer than all but a few examples seen slightly finer. Impress your firends! Lot 367		1865-S. NGC graded MS-65. CAC. Frosty and mostly untoned. Two minor obverse spots. A very rare date in this grade, with no more than a few dozen known in all grades of mint state. As the Civil War drew to a close, demand for silver coins remained quite high, so nearly all of these entered circulation and stayed there. Its hard to imagine how this coin survived all these years at the Gem level. Highly appealing! Housed in an old holder. Pop 2; tied for the finest examples graded at both services. Furthermore this toning is elegant and pleasing to the eye, and perfectly matched on both sides. Nice reflective fields, as the dies never lost their polish with so few coins struck for the year. The mintages for many coins in the 1880s was tiny, this because all the coin hoards saved during the Civil War finally returned to circulation in this decade, so demand for new coins was virtually nil.
