Lot 55		1856. PCGS graded Proof 64. CAC. PQ. Eagle Eye Photo Seal Approved. Boldly struck with lovely toning on both sides that boasts of smoky originality. The fields are virtually untouched as are the devices. The strike is that of a classic proof, with bold definition throughout. No spots or detracting elements and this coin is a visual treat for the numismatist. Add to this fact its an 1856 Flying Eagle cent and you know there will be strong and feverish demand which is well deserved. Should be regraded to PF-65. Only 1,500 struck. Pop 216; 66 finer at PCGS. These were sold to the public and most were retained in high grade but some slipped into circulation, such as the present coin.
