Lot 1720
1859 Great Eastern Side Wheel Steamer Silver Medal. EF-40. This medal is the size of a half dollar and shows the magnificent side wheel steam ship blazing along through the waves, with the sails duly tucked away, the reverse states DESIGNED BY I.K. BRUNEL and BUILT BY SCOTT RUSSELL and further describes the length, depth and weight. No doubt the traveling public was afraid to get on these side wheel ships after the disastrous loss of the similar U.S.S. Central America in 1857. Light wear on the medal, with lovely antique silver-gray toning on both sides.
Estimated Value $75-UP.

Lot 1723
1993 Mint Error, this is a Cent struck over a previously struck Dime. NGC graded MS-64. Make no mistake about it, this is a rare error. First of all, this coin started out as a 1993 dime and was struck normally. Somehow it got mixed in with a batch of cent planchets and fed through the coining press again. Lincoln was stamped over Roosevelt and the obverse design of the dime clearly shows on the reverse of the cent. One mark in the cent obverse field before Lincoln's nose will serve to identify this wonderful error coin.
Estimated Value $350 - 450.
