1859. PCGS graded Proof 65 PQ. CAC Approved. Lovely toning on both sides with pastel iridescence dominating and some deeper charcoal traces mixed into the center. The strike is bold throughout, and the fields and devices are exceptionally clean. This is expected for the Gem level grade, but is so rarely available on these pre-Civil War dollars the fact than any exist this nice is truly a marvel of luck and chance combining to preserve such a coin. Only 800 struck. Pop 10; 5 finer, 2 in 66, 2 in 67, 1 in 67+. (PCGS # 7002) .

The fields are reflective when tilted under a light and the surfaces are satin smooth with no deep nicks or scuffs worthy of note. The eye appeal is immense for this issue, and as one of the nicer No Motto Liberty Seated silver dollars, this coin will attract the attention of both date and type collectors alike. 1864. PCGS graded MS-65. Only 30,700 minted, and most of the original mintage was exported to circulate in the Orient. Meanwhile back here in the United States, the Civil War raged on leaving behind thousands of casualties and creating immense uncertainty for the future. Somehow this magnificent coin survived these tumultuous times and remains as a reminder of those difficult times. The surfaces are super clean, with no deep nicks or scrapes, the luster undisturbed, and the strike quite sharp. A scarce date in all grades, and this is one of the absolute finest around today. Light golden toning on both sides. Pop 6; 3 finer, 2 in 65+, 1 in 66 (PCGS # 6954) .
