Lot 2242
1928, $10 Gold Certificate. PMG Superb Gem Uncirculated 67PPQ. . Fr-2400. As of this moment we suspect that PMG has not graded a $10 Gold note any higher nor do we think one exists that is as nice as the specimen listed below. This gorgeous $10 Gold note has unmatched color and centering. Collected and scrutinized by a very fussy previous owner, we are confident that the new owner will be as equally proud as long has he/she maintains ownership. We are hard pressed to determine the value of this note when there is little or no past selling track record.
Estimated Value $3,500 - 5,000.

Its "fresh-from-the-pack" appeal cannot be overstated.Truly one of the best there is !

1928, $50 Gold Certificate. PCGS Gem New 66PPQ. . Fr-2404. This spectacular Gold $50 has tremendous color, bold embossing, and terrific paper originality. It is well centered, and has all the eye appeal in the world. Any small size $50 Gold Certificate is a scarce item, but a PCGS 66PPQ is likely to be a valuable candidate for a Set Registry entry.

Lot 2248
1928, $100 Gold Certificate. PMG Gem Uncirculated 66EPQ.Finest Known Population One, Only Gem according to PMG. . Fr-2405. This beautiful C-note has great color, plenty of eye appeal and complete originality. According to PMG, this is the only certified Gem and it clearly is in a class all by itself. The previous owner took years to amass a hand selected set of 6 gold notes. In our opinion, this note cannot be improved upon by any other. We can only estimate a hammer price that will justifiably raise eyebrows.
Estimated Value $35,000 - 50,000.

Lot 2249
1928, $100 Gold Certificate Star Note. RCGS Extremely Fine 40. . Fr-2405*. . KL-2747*. We calculate aproximately 12-15 examples have been recorded and have traded hands over the years. Several folds appear through the holder and the paper appears to have lost some of its crispness, but the surfaces are bright and there are no visible flaws. This is a very scarce note in all grades, and star note collectors always show up to bid competitively when they are offered at auction.
Estimated Value $20,000 - 25,000.

Lot 2250
1928, $500 Gold Certificate. PMG Gem Uncirculated 66EPQ. . Fr-2407. This stunning example of an ever-popular and scarce high denomination Gold Certificate is fully original, with bold embossing that is deep enough to be easily seen through the holder. The centering is exact for the grade with the color simply outstanding. High grade small size rarites like this are hard to estimate, but if the current demand for the very bests holds true expect this one to inspire a healthy winning bid. Hand selected by the previous owner who took years to amass this 6 gold note set .According to PMG Population reports this note is a Pop one with only one other certified a grade lower PMG 65. In our opinion the hammer will fall way beyond $100K-.
Estimated Value $100,000 - 125,000.

1928, $500 Gold Certificate Choice Unc CGA 64. . Fr-2407. . KL-2945. This high denomination Gold note is encapsulated in a holder with CGA as Choice Uncirculated 64. The second of two $500 Gold notes we are privleged to offer in this auction. A close look shows the paper is bright and the surfaces are clean, giving it the visual appeal of a Choice New example. High denomination Gold Certificates are very scarce in high grades, and this one is particularly appealing.
Estimated Value $40,000 - 50,000.

Lot 2252
1928, $1000 Gold Certificate. PCGS Very Choice New 64. . Fr-2408. Although the "PPQ" designation was not awarded due to the paper being a tad flat, the overall appearance of this $1000 Gold note is far above average. It is nicely margined with gem centering and excellent color for the issue. A lovely near-gem example of an ever-popular note. A fair value assessment of this note can only be measured by recent market prices. We imagine that the bidding for this specimen will be fierce.
Estimated Value $60,000 - 80,000.

Lot 2253
1928, $1000 Gold Certificate. CGA Choice Uncirculated 64. . Fr-2408. . KL-2984. One of the most popular of all small size design types, the $1,000 Gold Certificate is very seldom seen in high grades. This one possesses good colors and bright paper, although little embossing is evident through the holder. The lower right corner is slightly rounded, although this affects the eye appeal very little. It is overall a very desirable example, with good margins and fully the appearance that one would expect from the assign grade.
Estimated Value $50,000 - 60,000.

Lot 2254
1928, $1000 Gold Certificate. PMG About Uncirculated 53EPQ. . Fr-2408. . KL-2984. This high grade, lightly circulated Gold Thousand has only a couple of light folds that prevent a higher grade. There is some light staining on the right end of the face and the left end of the back, and three repaired pinholes are visible after close scrutiny--one at the bottom of the portrait and two near the lower left corner--but none of these minor flaws prevented PMG from assigning their desirable "EPQ" designation. Higher grade $1,000 gold notes are truly scarce, and these always excite bidders when they appear at auction.
Estimated Value $25,000 - 30,000.
