Lot 1386
1908. PCGS graded MS-65. Lovely golden toning and this is the first year of the new Indian head design. Sharply struck throughout and close examination fails to find more than few tiny ticks from handling, keeping this coin solidly in the Gem class. A delight for the specialist (PCGS # 7939) Estimated Value $3,000 - 3,200
Ex The Inverness Collection.

Lot 1387
1908. PCGS graded MS-64. CAC. Premium Quality. Mostly untoned. We think its condition is close to MS-65. A solid example of this first year of issue for the artist Bela Lyon Pratt's delightful incuse Indian head design for the quarter and half eagle. While some found this design too avant guard, soon the majority saw the benefit of the incuse devices and elegant design work, and these remain quite popular today with their resoundingly modernist designs incorporating the Native American theme that was peppered through our coinage and banknotes for generations. Impressive quality and visually appealing (PCGS # 7939) Estimated Value $1,650 - 1,700
Ex The Inverness Collection.
